Collagen induction therapy (CIT) uses a Dermaroller system to create hundreds of tiny channels, these channels cause the skin to produce collagen and elastin which are two of the key building blocks of the skin, these new formations add to the existing levels which causes the skin to thicken and become more pliable, resulting in smooth finish. In addition to stimulating collagen growth the micro channels create the perfect pathway for skin products to penetrate and be absorbed far more easily, therefore reaching the areas it was intended for which can boost the effectiveness of the products by several hundred percent.

Research shows that by the age of 35, on average you would have lost roughly half of the collagen levels in your skin, therefore noticing changes in tone and complexion. CIT is a treatment that can reduce the signs of ageing by stimulating new collagen growth long term. It can also be used to treat conditions such as; wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite, acne scaring, sun damage, pigmentation and hair loss.

The Dermaroller works to break down abnormal scarring and encourage the body to gently replace it with a smoother skin without initiating a scar response.

This controlled damage to the skin surface is not deep enough to elicit a scarring response however it will cause the body to have a milder healing response. The nearby tissue is broken down and new elastin and collagen are formed. This way scarring, lines, wrinkles and pigmentation are all gently removed, being replace over time with new scar free skin.

Fusion products are an excellent solution for Dermaroller treatments as they are sterile, pure, and contain active ingredients which include vitamins, amino acids, hyaluronic acid and the latest generation of octapeptides and pentapeptides which can be customised to suit every clients individual needs and requirements and applied at the same time that the CIT takes place.

Each Fusion Dermaroller consists of 192 titanium alloy micro needles and comes pre sterilised to comply with our medical grade requirements, strict hygiene and safe practice standards. The titanium alloy coating makes them strong so as to not tear or damage the skin and cause minimal trauma when creating the microscopic punctures. However a topical anaesthetic is used to ensure that no discomfort is felt by the client during the procedure. Although there are no outward signs of damage clients may experience a slight tightening almost like a sunburn effect which usually disappears within 24 hours.

A collagen matrix mask is applied to complete the treatment. Collagen matrixes are activated directly on the skin by adding liquid, allowing the collagen to form a hydrating film, and the release of collagen fragments to moisturise thus calming the skin and rapidly reducing any reddening. Therefore the “social down time” which can be associated with other different anti ageing treatments such as chemical peels or laser, is kept to an absolute minimum.
